This report is regarding :
India most
Mobile customer it seems that doesn’t want
high speed internet. Launched with a lot of hope, the 3G services should have
been accepted whole heartedly by speed-starved Indians. But the opposite has
come to light.
According to a Alert report by Wireless Intelligence, India’s
3G/WCDMA connections have attain 33 million in the first quarter of 2012. While
this number may show as large. With a subscriber based exceeding 900 Million,
it comes to only 4% adoption rate. This report is corroborated venture firm
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) Internet Trends Report which put India behind other countries like South Africa (21%), Indonesia
(11%) & even Philippines
(11%). Further dismal figures come to light when the industry takes into story the
numbers which were, by default, ‘Provisioned’ & marked by the telecom
providers as ‘Activated’. However, a nearer scrutiny reveals that many of these
numbers are not even inserted in mobile handsets that carry 3G technology. The
final figure
could be as low as 10-12 Million operating 3G users say
industry insiders.
