Telecom majors Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone,
Videocon Telecommunications and Telewings Communications are the pre-qualifiers
for the auction of 2G spectrum in the 1800 Mhz band (GSM), the Department of
Telecommunications (DoT) said today.
For the 800 Mhz band (CDMA), Tata Teleservices and Videocon are the pre-qualifiers.

Airtel has deposited Rs. 102.75
crore, Idea has deposited Rs. 1,306.75 crore, Vodafone
Rs. 229 crore, Videocon Rs.
648 crore and Telewings Rs. 1,096 crore for the 1800
Mhz band. For 800 MHz band (CDMA), Tata Teleservices and Videocon have
deposited over Rs. 22.5 crore and Rs.
220 crore, respectively.
